The Soul of Our Party

Submitted by Adam Koch on March 30, 2006 - 1:08pm.

We've just posted a new ad on our website that gets at the heart of why our campaign is so important. It was produced by Eric Blumrich of www.bushflash.com and pulls no punches in showing the horrors that this immoral war has wrought.

I must warn you that the images contained in the video are graphic and disturbing, but we must not turn our eyes or minds from the true cost of the war.

The video is titled "The Soul Of Our Party" and poses the central questions that all Democrats must answer: If our party does not stand

Help Us Spread Our Message

Submitted by Adam Koch on March 30, 2006 - 10:24am.

Our campaign continues to roll on, calling for a end to this disastrous war, promoting equal rights for all Americans and advocating positions that are consistent with the values of most New Yorkers.

Now as the March 31 filing deadline approaches, we need your help in making one final push to meet our first quarter fundraising goals. Our campaign continues to be fueled by individuals not corporate donations, and we need to rely on your continued support to get our message out across the state. So please, make a generous contribution today, and help us show Senator Clinton and others who continue to support the Iraq war, that they will be held accountable for their actions.

The Patriot Act- Even Worse Than It Seems

Submitted by Adam Koch on March 27, 2006 - 10:26am.

Our campaign has harshly criticized Senator Clinton for voting to reauthorize the Patriot Act. In light of new revelations regarding President Bush’s actions when signing the reauthorization, just how big a mistake Senator Clinton’s vote was becomes even clearer.

As the Boston Globe reported on Friday, when Bush signed the bill into law on March 9th, he added a signing statement, after reporters had left, which said he was not obligated to inform Congress about how the FBI used expanded police powers.

Clinton- Still Silent on Censure

Submitted by Adam Koch on March 24, 2006 - 9:39am.

Senator Feingold continues to make his case for the censure of President Bush. Wednesday night, as a guest on the Daily Show, Feingold noted:

"I was taught that the congress makes the laws and the president is supposed to sign them and enforce them. He's not supposed to make them up. ---How many times are we going to let George Bush and Dick Cheney say you guys don't support the troops, you're not patriotic and let them push us around?"

Judging by the lack of support from his fellow Democrats in the Senate, including Senator Clinton, the answer to his question would appear to be: At least once more.

Feedback

A reader of our website weighs in from overseas:

“My younger son and daughter-in-law live and work in New York. Although I live abroad in Taiwan, I think about them every day and worry about their future lives. I thank Jonathan Tasini for his efforts to help make those lives more productive and rewarding."

"As a Vietnam Veteran (1970-1972) I feel especially aggrieved at our country's presently misguided misadventure in Iraq: an unforced domestic and geopolitical error of the first magnitude -- one that the two sitting U.S. Senators from New York foolishly supported and therefore made possible."
