Six new Tasini campaign ads!

Submitted by Anna Mumford on September 5, 2006 - 11:30am.

Check out our six new video ads! Click HERE to view.

Four of the ads focus on campaign issues: the war, health, corporations, and equal rights. The fifth ad focuses on Senator Clinton’s unwillingness to debate and the sixth ad, which features a real donkey, is a parody of Clinton’s relationship to the Democratic Party.

Not only are we going to be sharing the ads over the internet, we also want to get them aired on TV. Click here to make a donation to help us make this happen and get Tasini’s message out to thousands of television viewers.

Today, I talked to a fellow citizen of the United States who happens to be a registered Democrat that lives in New York.
She called me after finding hearing from another friend who is voting for Tasini, only after finding out about him from me.

She asked me 'why would I want to vote for this Tasini Guy ', and I simply replied...

'I can go on for an hour, but let me ask you this... are you happy with the War, are you happy that we are in a lose situation whether we stay or go?'...

I then followed up with...
'Hillary Clinton was 1st lady for 8 years throughout the 90's, are we to believe she didn't know what was really going on in the middle east'

and ...
'What are we going to be talking about next year ___________ (her name will remain annonymous), are we going to be talking about Iraq, like we were last year and the year before?'

and closed with...
'are you not the least bit curious why all of the media, and the talking pundits have not brought Tasini up?'..

but before I finished I through in ...
'are you aware that CNN's Paul Begala flat out lied on national TV last month in the wake of the Lamont victory in CT claiming Hillary had no challenger in the New York Primary's'

When I was done pointing out all of that, I did admit that pulling all of our troops out of Iraq right now would be a mistake, but going there was a mistake also, and all those who are responsible for it are not worthy of keeping their jobs.

She replied, 'You're absolutely right, I am voting for Tasini Tuesday!'

** I didn't even have to bring up Corporate America abandoning the North American Continent and redeploying their manufacturing facilities in Communist China, undermining the USA and Mexico!**

I am sure she will also be talking to her family today (Sunday) about Tasini's Campaign.

So, I think I have the number up to about 12, not bad, now if the 40,000 people who signed the petitions all vote, and recruit say 5 voters, Tasini could pull in at least 200,000.

48 hours from now and we will be about 4 hours away from knowing the estimated results.

This has been another post by,
Greg from New York!

Monday AM - On the phone with a friend talking about everything other than politics, gabbed for over an hour, had some real good laughs....

Said goodbye and hung up the phone.

20 minutes later I said to myself 'what the hell is wrong with you, call her back up and see if she is voting tomorrow'..

2 Minutes later I was on the phone with her again, told her about Tasini and why I am voting for him. When I was done, she agreed and is going to vote for Tasini.

She then said she was going to call her family (she has many brothers and sisters) and get them to vote for Tasini too.

So I can say I have now gotten at least 13 people voting for Tasini Tuesday!! Not a bad job if I say so myself, and the day isn't over!

I joined Jonathan Tasini, Ana Mumford, another volunteer and his son for a couple hours of campaigning at the New York State Fair on September 1st. We spoke with hundreds of voters spreading Jonathan’s message of progressive politics and immediate withdrawal from Iraq. Senator Clinton was also visiting the fair that day. The Tasini campaign had hired someone to dress in a chicken suit and carry a sign imploring the incumbent to debate Jonathan (a tactic used by Bill Clinton in his campaign against Bush 41.) Our group, however, avoided any direct confrontation with the Senator (and also with the chicken), preferring to adopt a more serious tone and to work the crowd on a one-to-one basis.

Ironically and unbelievably, no more than 15 minutes after our campaign team disbanded, I inadvertently and, completely and unexpectedly found myself in the path of our junior Senator. She looked much older and frumpier than her pictures. She also seemed a bit preoccupied. When she shook my hand she hardly made eye-contact. But when I suggested that she seriously consider debating Jonathan, she seemed to snap to attention. She gave me a brief surprised and annoyed look, then immediately turned her back to me. She did, however, address my suggestion. Turning to no one in particular, Senator Clinton said, “we will have to see how the campaign develops.” I later read this is her standard answer to anyone bringing up the debate issue.

Some people say Jonathan is a Ned Lamont without money. Others say he is a Kinky Friedman without a sense of humor. To me Jonathan is a guy that did his best to work for the progressive ideas to which many of us subscribe.

I wish him all the best in the primary and can promise that he will receive at least one vote in the small upstate town of Madison, NY.
