Dean’s Democrats for Tasini

Jonathan Tasini, the anti-war candidate challenging Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democratic nomination this year, has won the endorsement of Democracy for NYC.

Mr. Tasini won 70% of the vote by the liberal group. Fifteen percent voted to endorse no one, and Mrs. Clinton won 12%. Another 3% went for Tom Weiss.

“Jonathan Tasini has taken a strong stand against the war in Iraq and in favor of health care for all Americans,” wrote DFNYC’s Tracey Denton in an e-mail to members.

The group is committed to the political platform that Howard Dean ran on for president in 2004. But surely there are issues on which Dean’s Democrats and Mrs. Clinton line up squarely?
